People Not Prisons Vigil

Incarcerating people with substance use disorder perpetuates stigma, prevents people from accessing treatment, and makes it even harder for them to recover and rebuild their lives after reentry.

Arizona desperately needs to adopt a public health approach to reduce overdose rates and make sure our incarcerated loved ones get the help they deserve. Our upcoming People Not Prisons Vigil will be focused on recognizing and remembering all who have suffered in Arizona’s prisons – especially those who have been impacted by punitive drug policies or suffer from addiction.
