Phoenix, AZ – The ACLU of Arizona and Arizona Wilderness Brewing Co. are pleased to announce a collaboration to encourage voter turnout in Maricopa County. Arizona Wilderness Brewing Co. plans to release a Hazy IPA called “People Power,” which was brewed to inspire people to vote in the 2022 Midterm Election. This beer will launch on October 12, which is the same day that early ballots are mailed, early voting locations open, and ballot drop boxes become available. Its release will also coincide with the first of two voter engagement events hosted by the ACLU of Arizona at Arizona Wilderness Brewing Co.’s locations in Phoenix and Gilbert.
The ACLU of Arizona’s Drinks Jams, Justice events focus on increasing awareness about the criminal legal system and the Maricopa County Attorney's race. The next two events will take place on October 12 at the Arizona Wilderness Beer Garden in Downtown Phoenix, and on October 21 at the Arizona Wilderness Brewpub in Gilbert.
“The Maricopa County Attorney sets the standard for who gets charged with a crime and for how long. Their job is to serve justice – and voters have the power to elect someone who treats everyone fairly,” said Kara Janssen, Smart Justice organizer at the ACLU of Arizona. “We’re thrilled to collaborate with Arizona Wilderness to energize voters and educate the community on important issues that impact all of us.”
Both Drinks, Jams, Justice events start at 6 p.m. Appetizers will be provided and drinks will be available for purchase. Anyone interested in attending can RSVP using the links below.
